Has anyone noticed anything unusual in the sky?

I know i've asked a similar question not too long ago but i just can't seem to get past this, between 9:00pm and 9:30pm (GMT) on 10.12.10 (that's 2 days ago) i spotted what appeared to be a blood red crescent moon low over the horizon, the crescent was also lying horizontally with it's 2 tips facing up but when i went outside to take a closer look it literally disappeared before my eyes(within 30 seconds) and it did not reappear that night and it was the last time i've seen it since, like i mentioned before i felt a very strange vibe emitting from it and i tried my best to reason with the logic but my mind wont let me, i guess all im asking is there anyone with any knowledge of unusual activity in our solar system or at least a reasonable explanation of what i might have seen that night? thanks.
