Why all these preseason predictions of USC struggling this year?

Sure they had 11 guys drafted... but they had 10 drafted after 2008, and still came out fine. Yes, eight defensive starters left, but the secondary remains intact, and USC's 5-star recruits always fill in well. And as for getting a new starting QB - does it really matter? Mark Sanchez wasn't that great until the Rose Bowl - but he was surrounded by amazing talent the whole time. Aaron Corp will be surrounded by all the same guys except WR Patrick Turner.. and there are 2 or 3 five star WRs eager to replace him, not to mention the four or five 5-star RBs ready to run behind an O-line loaded with NFL talent. In addition, USC in 2006 lost Reggie Bush, Lendale White, and Matt Leinart, the core of an offense far superior to the 2008 offense. Leinart, though largely unsuccessful in the NFL was miles ahead of Sanchez as a college QB, and , easily the worst of these three QBs replaced him efficiently, keeping USC a national title contender until the last week of the regular season. USC either goes undefeated or loses 1 game, not to Ohio State, Oregon, or Cal, obviously, but to some random team far worse than them,
