In the musical Hairspray, how do the parts of Corny Collins and Wilbur Turnblad compare?

I am auditioning for either part (Corny or Tracy's Dad) in a production of Hairspray, but I would like to know what each part is like relative to the other, in terms of character, singing, significance, stage time, amount of character development, amount of work, etc. Thanks for the help!
