I'm really sick, and getting worse, already got different opinions?

I went to the local Westerly Hospital, they told me I have Bronchitis. said there was nothing they could really give me for it? So I went a week later to South County Hospital, they did x-ray's etc. told me I had Bronchitis & Pnemonia. I have had this whole thing now for 1 month, and I still don't feel any better, in fact I feel worse. My lungs feel like there on fire burning up inside me all through the day, and yes, I was a smoker for 13 years. I'm just now trying to quit really hard. Antibiotics aren't really helping any it seems, caugh syrup doesn't do anything, Tussin perals are helping with the caugh at night? My chest is crackling when I exhale, and I'm feeling really light headed alot. There's a part of my back that hurts everytime I caugh now. What should I do, and how long will this take to go away, I've never felt this sick in my life...?
